used year around for hauling/plowing which cost approximately
$467,000 each at today’s cost.
All traffic-related signs on Houghton County roads are placed in accordance with the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTTCD).
Certain non-standard signs are permitted if paid for by other parties.
Road identification signs are erected by each individual township.
911 address signs have been placed by the 911 service originally, but subsequently are the responsibility of the owner.
All signing is performed only after a Miss Dig location call is requested.
